Packaging design has always been one of the most challenging issues for me. Throughout my years of work, one of the biggest projects assigned to me was packaging design. In this section, I will discuss the challenges and solutions I encountered in the field of packaging.
Mosul Kubba
Mosul Kubba is a Halal food production brand located in Los Angeles, USA, and Dubai, with diverse and extensive lines in the food industry. This brand collaborates with various agencies for content production, and this project was assigned to me when I was working as a designer at the Shaymo advertising agency.

Overview
Mosul Kubba was a large-scale project: designing 18 packages for semi-prepared foods. The project brief focused on maintaining an Eastern/Oriental theme across all packaging and defining a unified identity for the packages. The food items were categorized into four color groups: Orange, Yellow, Red, and Purple, with the largest volume of work in food packaging belonging to the Orange and Yellow groups.
Challenge
Without a doubt, this project has been one of my biggest and most challenging professional endeavors to date. The volume of work was immense and had to be delivered to the client within a very short deadline. The amount of information that needed to be placed on the packaging was extensive, and managing the design for this volume of content was extremely difficult. This is because one of the main challenges with small packaging is managing small text; the arrangement must be both aesthetically pleasing and legible. Furthermore, the composition had to be such that the buyer could quickly grasp the product’s main information and be attracted to the product in a very short time.
Another challenge of this project was the distance from the client and the separation of the printing operator from the client. I had to communicate simultaneously with two different organizations, and the time difference with both of them at that time was significant. This was very demanding for me in terms of time and energy, and I am very happy that today I look back on it as one of the achievements on my resume.
In the available images and videos, you can see a printed sample of the packaging. Due to the remote location of the product distribution point, I did not have access to the physical version of the packaging, and for this reason, I sufficed with the images provided to me by the company.
As I mentioned earlier, the orange and yellow packaging had the highest production volume and the best-selling products were presented in this packaging.
In the available video, you can view all parts of the packaging with greater detail and from a better perspective. The video was commissioned and produced at the request of the client company itself.

Overview
Almas can package include 5 products. These products were food items made from mutton (sheep meat), which were distributed in the United States, specifically in Los Angeles, California.
Challenge
The main challenge of this project was the gap between my aesthetic preference and that of the brand’s management. I worked very hard to find a middle ground on this challenging path, aiming to both satisfy the client and manage to approach my minimum professional standards.
Although the difference between my style and the client’s preference is still very evident in this project, it must be noted that in designing food product packaging, market demands are far more crucial than the designer’s personal preferences, because the packaging design must capture the customer’s attention on the shelf in a fraction of a second.
