Aran is an Iranian-Canadian brand specializing in premium interior design and the curation of sophisticated home décor. With a vision centered on understated elegance, the brand embodies a refined fusion of minimalism, modernity, and timeless beauty.
The client’s primary challenge was to maintain utmost simplicity while effectively communicating the brand’s essence. As an international Iranian-Canadian brand targeting a global audience, the logo needed to be equally meaningful and legible in both Persian and English. Additionally, the client sought to incorporate authentic Iranian artistic heritage without compromising the brand’s modern and contemporary character.
To address this, I drew inspiration from traditional Iranian calligraphy, specifically selecting the Kufic Banayi script — one of the simplest and most minimalist forms of Iranian-Arabic calligraphy. I carefully crafted a custom bilingual logotype that presents the name “Aran” harmoniously in both English and Persian. The design merges the geometric elegance of Kufic script with clean, modern typography to create a unified visual language.
Complementing the logotype, I developed a refined custom monogram based on the letter “A”, designed to function as a versatile and distinctive brand mark across various applications.
The final identity successfully preserves the brand’s desired simplicity and minimal aesthetic while infusing it with a sophisticated, contemporary feel. The bilingual logotype and monogram together create a cohesive, timeless, and culturally resonant visual system that strengthens Aran’s position as a premium, internationally appealing brand. The monogram, in particular, has proven highly effective as a standalone element in packaging, signage, and digital touchpoints.
